Navy shuts out
Even when things went wrong for
Navy in the Army-Navy game, somehow
they turned out right.
Quarterback Bob Leszcynski was
set to hold for a 34-yard field
goal attempt when he received a
high snap from the center. Immedi-
ately, he stood up, searched down-
field, and found Steve Callahan
free in the end zone for a touch-
down.
That's the way it went for Army
in the Navy's 28-0 rout of the Ca-
dets on Dec. 2. Navy exploded of-
fensively scoring two touchdowns
in the first quarter, and another
in the second, before the fina]
"busted play" touchdown pass in
the third quarter.
play skills they have learned as
well as routines they created them-
selves.
Army 28-0
The win put the Navy's record
at 8-3 for the season and narrowed
Army's edge in the traditional ri-
valry to 37-36-6. The Midshipmen
will face Brigham Young University
which has a 9-3 record, in the
first Holiday Bowl in San Diego,
Calif, on Dec. 22.
Swim team planned
The athletic division is begin-
ning to plan for a swim team for
children in grades 1-12. It is in-
tended to begin at the end of Jan.
