6 White Falcon December 5, 1980 SPORTS BEAT Jim Allen tops 600 twice in two weeks Jim Allen probably felt terrible last week. After bowling the season high series in intramural bowling no mention was made in the White Falcon. Jim we're sorry about that ...but it's not everyday that Jim Frey visits Iceland. To say Allen had an outstanding series would be an understatement...he tore up the Arctic Bowl lanes and connected for games of 235, 214 and 195 for a 644 serlM. American League And he continued his awesome ways this week leading the league leading Rockville squad to a 4-0 trouncing of AIMD. Allen had games of 231, 202 and 185 for a 618 series. Perry Boren bowled well in a losing cause with a 208 and 553. In other American league matches, cellar dwelling IceDeFor surprised AFI ffl and handed the second place team a 2*5-1*5 defeat. Frank Fisher paced the resurging IceDeFor squad with a 514 series. AFI's Tom Par- sons had a 206 game. The NavComm- Sta Leftovers, currently in third place, helped themselves to three games this week over Food Services as Carl Barger rolled a 501 and Cecil Presley a 503. Carl Carden had a 530 for Food Services. In other action, John Wycoff's 504 powered VP-9 over NavFac, de- spite a 200 game by David Coultes; Weather took three games from the 57th FIS #1 as Bob Plante rolled a 203 and 568 and Fred Urban a 232 and 557. Tom Redineus bowled well for the FIS with games of 204 and Racquotball League W L AFI 3 0 CFK 3 0 Det. 14 3 1 960th AWACSS 2 1 IceDeFor 2 1 57th 2 2 Dental 2 2 AIMD 2 2 Recreation 0 3 VP-9 0 3 Public Works 0 4 208 and a 588 series. And the^ 960th AWACSS won 3-1 over Comp- troller behind Bill Jasper's 523. North Atlantic League CommSta NRK #1 strengthened its lead in the North Atlantic league Monday night as they rolled over third place 57th FIS #4, 4-0. Comm- sta received superlative perfor- mances from Dave Shelley, 220, 595, and Dan Smith with a 542. Ed Gard- ner had a 554 for the losers. Club Mangement, tied in second place with CFK, shutout the 960th AWACSS Rejects, while CFK split their match against Air Ops 92. In other play, Don Phelps' 521 paced Navy Broadcasting to a 3-1 decision over Air Ops #1; Bob Moore's 502 helped the Black Knights to split with Security; and Medical 92 shutout the 960th AWACSS #3. National League In the National league, first place Medical met second place Navy Exchange and the two teams battled to a 2-2 split. Roger Hines paced the Medical squad with a 208 game. Supply #2, currently in third place, suffered a slight setback as CommSta NRK #2 took three games. Orlando Margate's 524 highlighted Supply's efforts. Meanwhile in other action, the 57th PMEL trounced ComFairKef for a sweep of four games; Charles May- berry, with a 500 series, powered the Supply Chiefs over Recreation 3-1; Joe Castillo's 229 and out- standing 567 helped the 57th FIS #5 over AFI 3-1, despite a 513 from Jerry Meyer; and the CFK Chiefs were 3-1 winners over IsCommlce. International League The International league post- poned its matches last week and will makeup games later this month. Two points! James Berg begins his flight towards the basket In the Youth Center Basketball Championship game played Sunday at the Base Gym. Berg's 18 points powered his team to a 36-31* win over the Gold team. The two-day tournament was sponsored by th Youth Center.
