A Washington state county sheri ff notices some unusual events as he patrols the area near Mt. St. Helens. A rising ex- ecutive in an enormous Houston oil firm is sent to Scotland to buy an entire village. The company is planning to construct a new oil refinery and the townspeople are eagar to sell their pro- perty. Stars Burt Lancaster and Peter Reigert. (112 min.) P THE DARK CRYSTAL - Animated (PG). A dazzling technological and artistic a- chievement of characters that inhabit the world and wage a battle of good over evil. (93 min.) Q PORKYS II -- Comedy (R). The boys from Angel Beach High are back in action, turning their town upside down. They have eliminated Porky Wallace's infamous Everglades nightclub. Their new rival is a fiery backwoods Reverend. Stars Dan Monahan and Wyatt Knight. (106 min.) R DEADLINE -- Drama (PG). An apparent minor earthquake in Australia sets jour- nalist Barry Newman on the trail of nuc- lear extortion. Newman quickly discov- ers that there has not been an earth- quake and that someone has exploded a nuclear device. During 1939 in Paris some friends are gathered at a charming restaurant. They hear on the radio that war is impending. Klaus Kinski is a psychologist who heads a group therapy program, the members of who are murdered one by one. Les- ley Anne Down is a Egyptologist who ar- rives in Cairo to study the ancient tombs. She meets and fall in love with Frank Langella. (118 min.) V YETI, GIANT OF THE 20TH CENTURY -- Hor- ror Drama (PG). A giant creature is found preserved in an iceberg. The cre- ture managed to survive for millions of years.
