Delay in passports foreseen
Air Force members with overseas assignments
may have to wait for passports and visas. State
Department has a backlog of applications that is
causing a 90 to 120 day wait for documents.
People can make the process run more smoothly by
applying for the documents within 15 days of thier
relocation interview. More information is avail-
able at the base personnel office.
Air Force members receive new option
for house hunting
Because of a new rule that became effective
June 20, 1985, Air Force members may now take up
to five days to look for a home while enroute to
a new duty station without being charged leave.
Before the new rule, a member could only make the
trip prior to the PCS move. You now have the op-
tion of house hunting before the PCS, under the
old rule, or enroute to the new duty station, un-
der the new rule.
