Going strong since 1990, Iceland’s premier jazz festival brings you a selection of international artists as
well as some of Iceland’s top talent. This week-long jazzmatazztic celebration incorporates artists from
a variety of jazz subgenres and includes influences from swing, experimental, world, electronic and
urban music. Some notable headliners include Latin band Pedrito Martinez Group, Icelandic vocal
tenor + piano extravaganza the Jim Black Trio, and Óskar Guðjónsson, home-grown guitarist Björn
Thoroddsen Quintet, eclectic Icelandic band ADHD (pictured) and plenty more. This year’s edition is
truly a can’t miss event for any jazz fan. TC

The phantoms of the opera are here and this time, they’re not just inside your mind. Iceland’s
legendary tenors Kristján Jóhannsson, Gissur Páll Gissurarson and Garðar Thór Cortes will be
performing in the glass room, Björtuloft, at the top of Harpa, overlooking the Reykjavík skyline and
the Old Harbour. You’ll get to satisfy your taste buds with a truly Icelandic five-course gala dinner
consisting of Icelandic lamb, fresh seafood and a cocktail toast while listening to some world-class
opera music in view of the midnight sun. SL
