It is very confusing when an Icelandic band has a name that
makes you think they are Irish, but we can assure you, they are not
(even though their hair looks red-ish in the right kind of light). FM
Belfast are at the forefront of the Icelandic electronica scene, and
after an international tour they are returning home and have a solo
gig. Treat yourself, have a ball, and enjoy one of their few non-
festival shows. MC

Classy To The Bone
Hjaltalín
Húrra
Tryggvagata 22 (C3) | 22:00 | 2,000 ISK
Much loved local pop band Hjaltalín are so damn classy. Their
songs make you want to lounge on a soft leather chair, gaze out
of a rain soaked window all whilst wearing an asymmetrical coat.
Their voices are like a gift from the volcano gods and you just
know they’d eat pizza with a knife and fork. Lucky for us, you don’t
have to be classy to catch them. Hjaltalín may have won a zillion
awards, but the one they want the most is your heart. MC

There are many beautiful things in life, and helping people in need
is certainly one of those. If you feel philanthropic, sympathetic
to the cause, or need to have your soul saved, you’ll want to
attend the Kraftur Benefit Concert. There will be more excellent
musicians than you can poke a stick at, with the likes of Emilíana
Torrini, KK & Ellen, Amaba Dama, Baggalútur, Selma Björns,
Stefanía Svavars, Regína Ósk, Erna Hrönn and Ari Eldjárn
all making appearances. Proceeds will go towards helping young
people with cancer, and their families too. MC
