Expect an over-the-top merry show with lots of sing-alongs and fun times from these fine bearded specimens of Iceland's music scene! And don't worry if you don't under- stand the lyrics, most of the guests won't know them, so humming along works just fine. The gig starts at 22:00, but if half as many people hear about it as we suspect, you'll want to get there early to secure yourself a ticket (and a seat). ROCK OUT, YA'LL Easy-going funk-rockers Þausk are putting on a show with the psychedelic rock band Lucy In Blue all the way out in Haf- narfjörður's Íslenski Rokkbarinn at 23:30. Al- though this may exclude many of the latte-sipping 101 Reykjavík rats from attending (because, you know, those hipsters don't have cars), hopefully you, dear reader, will find a way to get to the unofficial suburb of Reykjavík. Oh, and admission is free. Art 50x(30x30)+8 Art Girls, Girls, Girls Music Quintessential ‘90s pop Iceland’s famous archetypal ‘90s pop band is back! After celebrating their 25-year anniversary two years ago, filling Harpa’s concert hall to the brim, the band is back for more. Nýdönsk is an Icelandic musical group established in the lord’s year, 1987. Like with all good ‘80s hits, Nýdönsk’s lineup is constantly changing, but the music remains consistently the same. The work of 58 diverse artists will be displayed on 30x30 canvases at Art67, a mix of 50 paintings and eight watercolour paintings. SV In this exhibit, the ordinary and the extreme become intertwined: A teenage girl’s obsession with appearance and the private suffering of an anorexic woman; the girl playing dress-up and the stripper wearing a schoolgirl outfit. The American photographer Lauren Greenfield examines the experience of modern womanhood through portrait images and interviews that cast a light on the experiences and expressions of women in pop culture.
