Parade
!!!Pride Parade!!!
This year marks the seventeenth annual
Reykjavík Pride celebration—a weeklong series
of concerts, parties, performances, interactive
events, and seminars all surrounding bi, lesbian,
trans, gay, intersex, etc. themes and issues—all
culminating in the parade. Come and see a cele-
bration of all things LGBT+! Or, if you're itching to
be part of the queerest procession Iceland has to
offer, sign up online by August 1. All participants
are asked to show up at the starting point at 12:00
on Saturday, 8 August. The parade starts at 14:00
at Vatnsmýrarvegur, and ends at the stage at Ar-
narhóll. SLWF Photo by Alísa Kalyanova
Aight—so it's Merchants' Weekend again, and
you've had enough of your friends suggesting you
go outside. Like, gross. You're just not about that
life, ya dig? Instead you're for sure heading over
to the neighbouring venues of Húrra & Gaukurinn
to see some of the wickedest acts Iceland has to
offer—while never having to be outdoors for any
longer than absolutely necessary. Featured acts
run the genre gamut, and include hardcore noise
punk sludge-monsters Muck, Icelandic rapper &
sunglassess enthusiast Gísli Pálmi, indie alt. post-
everything-ers Mammút, and many many more!!

Open mic stand up comedy in English
Every Monday, The Goldengang, a group of
comedians get together and perform a free comedy
set in English for expats and locals alike. Bear in
mind there may be some teething issues, but at
least everyone will understand the jokes. We think.
Admission is always free.

Icelandic singer-songwriter Teitur Magnússon
may be known for being a member of Ojba

heads and earned him a lot of praise. He’s joined

pickings, and delving into electronic soundscapes.
