August 2 at 14:00 Old Herring Factory ‘Hidden Forest’ This exhibit features the works of 25 different artists, all of which focus on driftwood and its untapped potential for practical and artistic use. 'Hidden Forest' is curated by Elísabet V. Ingvarsdóttir and Dóra Hansen. Runs until August 28 Hjalteyri The Factory ‘Toes’ For the ‘Toes’ exhibit, Ólöf Nimar, Una Margrét Árnadóttir, Unndór Egill Jónsson and Örn Alexander Ámundason exhibit their work, all of which has been made with the specific location and overall environment of the Factory in mind. Runs August 1-30 Höfn The Dairy ‘Beginning and End’ This multimedia exhibition explores the origins of time, of night and day, light and dark, the seasons, and the land. It is the last exhibition to be held at The Dairy before it is converted into a hostel. Runs until August 10 Laugarbakki Norðanpaunk 2015 This three-day DIY NFP punk and metal fest features acts as diverse as Börn, Krupskaya, Kuml, Misþyrming, and others. Runs July 31 - August 2 Skagaströnd Spákonuhof Þórdís the seer The first named inhabitant of Skagaströnd was Þórdís the seer, who lived there in the beginning of the 10th century, and in this exhibit her life, or at least what we know of it, will be on display all summer. Guests can also have their fortunes told or palms read by locals. Runs until September 30 Siglufjörður Kaffi Rauðka Ljótu Hálfvitarnir This folk superband of goofy guys will put on a fun show at Kaffi Rauðka. July 31, 22:00 East Iceland Borgarfjörður The old rendering house in Bakkagerði Bræðslan Festival This small festival is now in its fifth year, offering a diverse range of genres and artists—from Prins Póló to indie rockers Valdimar. Accompanying the main stage acts are lots of off-venue events around the village. July 25 Egilsstaðir Sláturhúsið Cultural Centre Icelandic Women’s Rights Associa- tion Exhibition The Icelandic Women’s Rights As- sociation is hosting this exhibition on the history of the struggle for women’s rights in the 20th century. Runs until July 31 ‘I Want This!’ This exhibition will feature illustrations from Icelandic children’s books, and aims to demonstrate the diversity in artwork in children’s books.
