' Til kjamafjölskyldu teljast hjón og fólk í óvígðri sambúð, böm hjá þeim 15 ára og yngri, einhleypir karlar og konur, sem búa með bömum 15 ára og yngri.
Böm 16 ára og eldri, sem búa með foreldrum sínum, teljast ekki til kjamafjölskyldu og sama gildir um einhleypa sem búa með bömum sínum 16 ára og eldri,
fram til 1998. Árið 1999 teljast börn 16 ára með kjamafjölskyldum og frá árinu 2000 teljast böm 16 og 17 ára með kjamafjölskyldum. A nuclearfamily refers
to all couples (married and in a consensual union), their children 15years and under, single men and women who live with their children 15years and under
as well as those children. Persons 16 years and over who live with their parents are not included in nuclear families and the same applies to single parents
with children lóyears and over, until 1998. In the year 1999 a nuclearfamily includes children 16 years andfrom the year 2000 it includes children 16 and
17 years old.
