Growth and weather. Among factors known to affect the growth rate of plants are
temperature, radiation and precipitation. Radiation data were only available from Iceland. The
experiments were carried out under widely different soil conditions. It is therefore difficult to
isolate the effects of weather parameters on growth. However, these data were used to
estimate the effect of temperature and precipitation on growth rate. This was done using the
