Perithecia scattered, beneath the epiderm, diameter 0.1— 0.2 mm. Asci
cylindrical, stalked, the clongatc asci 130X8/«, the short ones 90X10/«,
8-spored. Spores uni—biseriate, elongate-ellipsoidal, pale yellowish brown,
typically with 3 transverse septa, but nutnber of the spores gradually
get 4 or even 5 transverse septa, a very few 6, sorae of the secondarily
formed transverse scpta are oblique, none of the cells are very promi-
nent, 17—22X6—7/«. Numerous delicate paraphyses; they are cylindrical,
articulated, 4 /« wide.
This species is nearly allied to L. hippophaés (Fabre) Rostrup.
