Who knows whether Julius Caesar enjoyed a slice
or two of pizza, the Italian staple that has become
one of the world’s most popular foods. The world’s
third-largest pizza chain got its name from Mike
Ilitch, who, with his wife Marian, founded the chain
in 1959. Recognising her husband’s leadership
qualities, she called him “Caesar”, adding “little” in
front, because of his lack of ambition at the time.
Four decades later, after beginning as a small
local pizza restaurant, Little Caesars has expanded
into an international franchising business. Today
the chain has over 4,600 restaurants all over the
world, with the Iceland branch being the first in
northern Europe. The restaurant makes those
delicious pizzas to take away, and, due to their
emphasis on freshly baked, top quality pizzas, they
do not deliver.

Pizza! concept that began in the ‘70s, which offers
two pizzas for the price of one. Little Caesars has
earned a reputation for offering the best pizzas at
the lowest price, and for 12 years has ranked first
place in a survey of pizza places by Restaurants and
