THE VIDEO-MAKER
Photographer and film-maker Börkur Sigthórsson has created quite a stir with his vivid,
daring imagery in the music videos of Icelandic rock band Mínus. At the moment he shut-
tles back and forth from London, where he has several ongoing music projects. “I think
it’s a myth that Icelandic people are more creative than others. But Reykjavík is such a
small place- the city centre is like a tiny village. Everyone knows each other and it’s easy
to group people together. This means that it’s easy for them to get good projects going
and to make daring decisions. Abroad, people don’t have that sort of opportunity.”
