ICELAND REVIEW 89 Known for its wide selection of organic products—including bar- ley, rapeseed oil, seasonal produce, herbs, jams, chutneys, and lacto-fermented preserves—the Móðir Jörð (‘Mother Earth’) farm, B&B and organic shop offers travelers an intimate ‘field-to-table’ introduction to country life in East Iceland. Located on the Vallanes farm in the peaceful Fljótsdalshérað, Móðir Jörð is less than 15 kilometers (9 miles) from the town of Egilsstaðir, and yet feels worlds away.
