We believe in providing superior instruction; that
is the reason we have exercised the greatest care
in selecting our teachers, — teachers of strong
character, advanced scholarship, and ample ex-
perience. The superior service of “Success”
teachers is not approximated by that of any other
private commercial college in Westem Canada.
The result is that "Success Graduates” command
attention and are favorably considered by em-
ployers.

Employment Is Good For
‘Success-Trained’ Applicants
More than 1,000 “Success-trained” Students were
assisted to positions by our “Placement Bureau” dur-
ing the year ending June 30, 1939. It will pay you to
be able to say, “I am a ‘Success” graduate.” New
students may enroll now. Our classes will be in session
throughout the summer. Ask for our 36-page Pros-
pectus.
The prestige of The Success Business College in
the field of commercial and accounting education
is apparent in that it has been authorized to
provide instruction in the famous Walton Course
in Accounting and Finance.
The Walton Course is published hy the Walton
Puhlishing Company of Chicago, and has been
adopted by approximately 200 Universities and
Colleges in Canada and the United States.
ACCOUNTANCY FOR YOUNG MEN
Accountancy has become a great profession,
offering many opportunities of advancement to
young men of Grade XI or higher education.
Many of the prominent Chartered Accountants
in Winnipeg and Westem Canada began their
professional training at “The Success.”
STENOGRAPHY FOR YOUNG MEN
If young men realized the advantages of steno-
graþhy as a means of profitable employment and
how easily a stenographic training may be
acquired, they would soon decide to study Short-
hand and Typewriting. There is no better step-
ping-stone to success than that of stenography.
A young man who has trained for a stenographic
position is reasonably sure of employment. Thou-
sands of young men have worked their way up
from one position to another through stenographic
training.
STENOGRAPHIC POSITIONS for GIRLS
Over the gateway to opportunity is the magic
word “Shorthand.”
Ability to write Shorthand accurately and rapidly
has started more women on the road to success
than any other branch of business training. Truly,
is has been called the “winged art,” so rapidly
have those who have used it flown, as it were, to
high-salaried positions. Thousands of women
attribute their success to a knowledge of Short-
hand.
SECRETARIAL POSITIONS FOR GIRLS
Secretarial training initiates the young woman
into the real economics of business and into the
activities of everyday affairs; it develops her
judgment; it gives her the power to make use of
her abilities in the field of profitable employment,
broadening her sphere of usefulness and enlarg-
ing her means of self-support. It also obviates
helpless dependence upon others for advice and
assistance regarding simple business matters.
FALL TERM
Opens
M0NDAY, AUGUST 21
You may enroll for Day or Evening Classes
at any time but we suggest the weeks of
MONDAY, AUGUST 21; MONDAY, AUGUST 28;
TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 5; MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 11.
From 1 to 48,495
If you can visualize an army of 48,495 young men and women
marching down Portage Avenue, you will have some idea of
the number of young people who have trained at the Success
Business College of Winnipeg.
To August 10, 1939 (since the College was founded in 1909),
exactly 48,495 young men and women have trained in the Day
and Evening Classes of this College.
To the younger generation we can give no better advice than
to follow in the footsteps of their older brothers and sisters,
for we believe that there is a successful future for business-
trained young people.
Our Fall Term will open Monday, August 21st, and we invite
you to begin your “Success” course then, or as early after that
date as it is possible for you to enroll.

PERSONAL
DEVELOPMENT
In keeping with the modem
trend in Business Education,
“The Success” was first in
Winnipeg to introduce the sub-
ject of “Personal Develop-
ment.” While this subject is
optional, the majority of our
students desire to learn more
about the relationship of per-
sonality to securing and retain-
ing business positions.
OUR MÖDEL OFFICE
Our Model Office is conducted
under actual office practice
conditions, and provides our
graduates with valuable steno-
graphic and secretarial experi-
ence. This exclusive “Success”
course insures ready adaptabil-
ity to business requiremenls
and adds materialJy to the ap-
plicant's ability to secure a
position. The Model Office is
directly related to the College
Office and is under the super-
vision of an experienced office
manager.

Our Graduation
Examinations
Are Independent
The “Success” is the only College in Winnipeg
which provides its students with independent
graduation examinations. The Business Educa-
tors’ Association of Canada sets and marks all
our final examinations. This Association has a
membership of 37 of Canada’s most progressive
commercial college. The Success Business College
has been selected to represent the Association in
Winnipeg. B.E.A. standards are higher, and
B.E.A. graduates are better qualified to meet
the exacting demand of particular employers.
The Success College Leads
in Civil Service
Examinations
The results of the Manitoba Civil Service Exam-
inations, held on May 27th, and June 23rd, 1939,
as published in the Manitoba Gazette, show that
Nora Fisher won first place and Kathleen Wort-
ley second place. Among the successful boys who
wrote -on these examinations, Jon Bildfell took
first place and Robert Pundyk second place.
These four candidates were trained in The
Success Business College of Winnipeg—another
tribute to the Higher Standards of “The Success.”
Fifteen (15) out of a total of thirty-eight (38)
successful candidates were trained at The Success
Business College. These examinations were open
to all stenographers, as well as to graduates of
Commercial High Schools and Business Colleges.
There are ten (10) Business Colleges in Manitoba.

EDUCATIONAL ADMITTANCE
STANDARD IS GRADE XI
(Supplements Allowed)
Many of our students are University Graduates,
Teachers and Grade XII students. Our minimum
standard of admission is Grade XI (supplements
allowed). To this standard we strictly adhere, for
long experience convinces us that young people
of sound educational standing are better workers,
possess more ability, and are more apt to succeed
in business occupations.
In this College, you will associate with young
men and women of ability, scholarship and char-
acter; you will make social and business contacts
that will be valuable to you in later years. Par-
ents can also be assured that in such an environ-
ment, their sons and daughters will develop self-
reliance, self-control, and the desire to live well-
balanced lives.
WE ARRANGE BOARDING
ACCOMODATION
We meet students at the station, if we are ad-
vised in advance as to when and how they will
arrive.
Upon arrival at the College, full arrangements
will be made as to boarding accomodation, after
which the student’s baggage will be delivered.
There are many Winnipeg homes open to our
girl students where, in return for companionship
and light duties before and after school hours,
free board and room are offered. If you desire
our assistance in'securing a boarding place, write
us for special information.
HOW TO SELECT A COURSE
The selection of a course is an individual re-
aponsibility. The following points should receive
special thought: the amount of time at one’s
disposal, and one’s financial ability; thoroughly
mastering a course of moderate length and scope,
as compared with partly covering a longer course
of broader content; one’s special adaptability to
certain types of office and business responsibili-
ties. In these and many other questions our
guidance can be of definite help to you. Our
advice, based on years of experience in arranging
the courses of thousand of young people who have
come imder our supervision, is willingly offered
to you. This service is free to all prospective or
active students of The Success College.
