A new book of Icelandic poetry is
now available. This is a collection of
poems by Guðmundur Óskar Einar-
sson and his brother Sigursteinn
Einarsson.
These two poets were brothers
born in New Iceland, growing up in
the Geysir area and living in Arborg
where Mundi was well known.
The poems are unique in that the
brothers lived in a Canadian environ-
ment yet Icelandic was their lan-
guage. They belonged to the genera-
tion that had a Canadian setting in
which to express themselves in the
language of our forefathers. Their
poetry spans the first half of this cen-
tury and is a welcome addition to
Western Icelandic publications.
