The news from the
Westman Islands is

well in his pen at Klettsvík.
He has recovered after a
touch of stomach flue-
which he sufl'ered from last
December. Keiko spends a
lot of time swimmmg
around, has a good appetite
and is in good form. In an
interview with Morgun-
blaðið, his trainer Jeff
Foster expressed satisfac-
tion with Keiko’s perform- ;
ance, and said that his
progress increases the like- ;
lihood of setting him free.
Mr. Foster said that by
spring, nets would hope-
fully be set up making it
possible for Keiko to swim
almost around the entirety
oi Klettsvík. This would peit in Klettsvík. With him are Ámi Johnsen and Jeff Foster. pitoto: Morgunbtaðiðisjguni'-ir

Spend night in Stykkishólmur youth
hostel. Sleep in clothes, no bedding.
Change mind next day and greet
Guðrún Ósvífsdóttir buried 1008 ad at
foot of most holy mountain in Iceland,
Helgafell. Climb quickly like mountain
goat; do not look back. Enter stone
enclosure; rnake three wishes. Stand at
view dial; behold flat land below. Hear
noise. See cousins, Carol and Diane, in
whirlwind. Couple of spins. Whirlwind
turns direction. Beelines for me. What
to do? Close eyes, relax, feel tranquili-
ty, love. Whirlwind encircles more than
a dozen times. Dies. Walk down moun-
tain in silence.
“Did you see that?”
“Yes,” says Carol. “Hair straight
out, clothes sucked in.”
“Never heard of anything like
that,” says Hugga from Stykkishólmur.
“Strange things happen on Helgafell.”
Tour Snaefellsnessýsla. Retum to
Vegamót. Say goodbye to Hugga. Flat
tire—right in front of garage.
“Guðrún—was that you?”
RS. Would like to hear from others
who experienced unusual happenings
on Helgafell.
