NÁTTÚRUFRÆÐINGURINN 161 SUMMARY New Echinoderms to the Icelandic Fauna by Sigfús A. Schopka Marine Research Institute, Reykjavík. The author describes four new species of Echinoderms which have recently been caught within the 400 m depth limit at the west and southwest coast of Iceland. (Fig. 1). Tliree of the species Peltaster nidarosiensis, Ophiomyxa serpentaria and Calverosoma hystrix were all previously known from deeper waters at the south coast. The finding of Peltaster nidarosiensis in rather shallow waters (100—300 m) is of great interest, because this species has else- where (Norway, Greenland and West-Indies) been recorded in deeper waters only (470—960 m). The fourth species Diplopteraster multipes has never been recorded before in Icelandic waters, Imt is known frorn two neighbouring countries, Greenland and Norway. 11
