þeirra og skilning. Þroski barnanna hefiir áhrif á skynjun þeirra
á sjúkdómi systkinanna og breyttum fjölskylduaðstæðum.
Niðurstöður þessarar rannsóknar sýna það greinilega að yngstu
systkinin hafa meiri hegðunarerfiðleika heldur en eldri
systkinin og má því ætla að þau eigi í mestum erfiðleikum með
að aðlagast breyttum aðstæðum. Afar mikilvægt er því að veita
foreldrum astmaveikra barna fræðslu um þetta unga aldursskeið
og hvemig þroski bama og skilningur kemur til með að lita
reynslu þeirra af breyttum aðstæðunum fjölskyldunnar.

Wilderness Advanced Lífe Support
Ert þú tilbúin(n) að veita sérhæfða aðstoð í óbyggðum
Dagana 11.-15. nóvember 2002 mun Björgunarskóli
Slysavarnafélagsins Landsbjargar í samvinnu við
Landspítala, háskólasjúkrahús og Wilderness Medical
Associates (WMA) halda Wilderness Advanced Life
Support námskeið á íslandi.
WALS er námskeið sem eingöngu er ætlað læknum,
hjúkrunarfræðingum og bráðatæknum (paramedic).
Námskeiðið hentar vel fyrir heilbrigðisstarfsfólk sem þarf
að geta veitt fyrstu hjálp og sérhæfða aðstoð utan
sjúkrahúsa, s.s. í óbyggðum, á vettvangi eða í flutningi.
Námskeiðið er samtals 36 klukkustundir.
Fyrirkomulag námskeiðsins er þannig að fyrirlestrar eru
að mestu fyrir hádegi en eftir hádegi er verkleg kennsla
og æfingar. Leiðbeinendur eru frá Bandaríkjunum og fer
kennsla fram á ensku. Aðalleiðbeinandi verður David
Johnson, læknir.
