ICELANDIC HANDICRAFTS Arts and crafts centre Fjörugull produces and markets handicrafts made from Icelandic nature, using materials like sand and rocks from the country’s rugged coastline. Founded in 1994 in the West Fjords, Fjörugull’s best-selling item is a salt and pepper grinder made from sand, unique in its form and tex- ture. Like all of Fjörugull’s objects, the salt and pepper couple are individ- ually hand-crafted and no pair is alike. Fjörugull’s handicrafts are available at Icemart, located at Keflavík International Airport. www.fjorugull.com A UNIQUE TASTE Icelandic chocolate has a soft, unique and delicious taste. Icelandic milk is the secret ingredient which gives the chocolate its particularly luscious taste. Chocolate lovers from abroad will love trying out Iceland’s different chocolate varieties such as Rommý, Buffaló, Krembraud and Karamelludýr, as well as Móna’s ‘konfekt’, a premium selection of boxed chocolates. The Móna chocolate factory only produces the finest quality choco- late, packed in boxes decorated with artwork from some of Iceland’s best-known artists. Rommý, a chocolate with rum filling, is a product which has been on the market for nearly 40 years and still enjoys popularity. Krembraud is a chocolate-covered wafer biscuit with a marshmallow filling. These products can be found at all major shops in Iceland, including Icemart and the Duty Free Shop at Keflavík International Airport.
