32 A T L A N T I C A DEVIL’S CHORUS After giving it their all at last year’s Airwaves, noise terrorists Mínus were whisked off to the UK by Kerrang to deliver the powerful sounds that they had created on their album Jesus Christ Bobby. With a new direction and bass player, Mínus are unlikely to get stuck in a rut, and even if this music’s not your cup of tea, this lot live may well awaken your beast within. Guitarist Frosti calls off his beast for Atlantica: Is the music changing? It’s more rock and less metal. It’s just how we’ve evolved. There’s more songs – unbelievable isn’t it?... with choruses and stuff... Do you have any influences that would surprise people? We all listen to all different styles of music, but much less hard core these days. Mínus once said that the girls that came to your gigs weren’t really into the music. Is that still the case? No… (laughs). I think we have some genuine female followers now… What is the energy like live? We are really energetic. The music is maybe a bit less aggressive now, but it’s definitely, to a certain extent, still aggressive. Is it different when you play to a home crowd? No, I wouldn’t think so. We toured with Kerrang (20 gigs in 20 days) in Jan/Feb and it feels the same onstage, I think. We lived inside a ‘nite- liner’ tour bus for three weeks and got the smell of what it’s like to be in a real rock band and we liked it – so there’s no turning back now.
