Cactus Flower
For bachelor Julian Winston (Walter Matthau), life is
just dandy. As his starched and no-nonsense recep-
tionist-nurse Stephanie (Ingrid Bergman) keeps both
his dental office and his single life running smoothly,
Julian´s kookie blonde Greenwich Village mistress,Toni
(Goldie Hawn), believes that he is a married man and
father. Appalled after Toni is rescued from a suicide
attempt by her young writer-neighbor Igor (Rick
Lenz), Julian promises to marry her. However, refus-
ing to be a “home-breaker”,Toni insists on first meet-
ing his wife. Desperate, Julian turns to Stephanie, who
agrees to pose as his faithless wife, while Harvey (Jack
Weston) Julian´s perennial deadbeat patient, pretends
to be her lover. And as Igor and a UN diplomat vie
for the affections of the now-blooming Stephanie, still
thinking they are married,Toni is the first to realize
Julian and his receptionist really do love each other.

lawyer seduced into a political race against a well-
respected incumbent senator. He finds it difficult to

mising his position on the tough issues. His own
father, former California Governor John J. McKay,
refuses to endorse him. A sad comment on the world

Something´s Gotta Give
Harry Sanborn (Jack Nicholson) is a perennial
bachelor who only dates women under 30. On
what was to have been a romantic weekend with
his latest infatuation, Marin (Amanda Peet), at her
mother´s Hamptons beach house, Harry develops
chest pains. Marin´s mother, Erica (Diane Keaton),
a successful divorced playwright, reluctantly agrees
to help care for him. Once they are alone togeth-
er, Harry is surprised to find himself drawn to
Erica; after some initial protests, she begins to
respond. Romantic complications arise when Erica
is also pursued by Harry´s charming thirty-some-
thing doctor (Keanu Reeves). Recovered, Harry
returns to his home and his old ways. However,
when his feelings for Erica prove life-altering,
Harry must undergo a true change of heart if he is
to win her back. – 120 min.
