Excitement builds in the packed laugardalshöll
arena in Reykjavík as the women’s final is about
to start. It’s the early afternoon of October 18
at TeamGym 2014, the tenth European TeamGym
Championships, and it’s the moment the Icelandic
national team has been waiting for. after tireless prac-
tice, do they have what it takes to win the title for the
third time, on their home turf? Their countrymen are
rooting for them. The moment of truth has arrived.
Six nations are competing in the final but it’s clear that
the fight for first place is between Iceland and Sweden.
Sweden topped the qualifications with a final score of
56.733, closely followed by Iceland with 56.450. The
other teams lagged behind.
