pany’s Adventure Meeting packages, and you won’t have to
choose. Mountaineers’ timber lodge is located on the east side
of Langjökull glacier at Skálpanes—just 50 minutes away from
the majestic Gullfoss waterfall. Equipped with large windows that
look directly out onto the glacier, as well as with internet access,
whiteboards, projectors and other amenities, Skálpanes provides
the ideal backdrop for business meetings and special events.
Once the meeting is finished, enjoy a delicious catered meal—
al fresco! Mountaineers’ luxurious outdoor buffets are served on
a table of fresh glacial snow. Available menus include gourmet,
international and Icelandic-inspired offerings. Mountaineers even
has its own unique beer, brewed at the local brewery Steðji.
acTion anD relaxaTion
During your day on the glacier, give your group some time to re-
center with a session of outdoor yoga, or strengthen your team
skills by taking part in Mountaineers’ exciting Snow Games; such as
snow golf, a GPS navigation challenge, or a sledding race. Or see
if your team has what it takes to complete a Spy Academy mission
designed by former intelligence operatives, or to withstand Super
Viking trials, such as a jeep pull or ice-cold Arctic Ocean plunge.
Recently, there have been some exciting new additions to the
company’s fleet of Super Jeeps, 100 snowmobiles and other mighty
machinery: two Monster Mountain Trucks, one 8x8 and one 10x10,
which can seat 49-60 guests. Several heavy duty machines—buses,
agricultural trucks and even former portable artillery vehicles—have
been specially constructed or modified for harsh driving conditions.
These Monster Trucks represent a true innovation for adventure
touring. They are mammoths equipped for extraordinarily harsh
conditions, but with all the comforts of luxury buses. Hire one and
get picked up from Keflavík International Airport in style, or simply
rent one for a day trip or afternoon jaunt.
