The agency is a family-run business which remains among the top
one percent of all Icelandic companies for financial stability. It was
also among the first four agencies in Iceland to be awarded the
coveted VAKINN certification in 2012. VAKINN is the Icelandic tour-

“Our main strength is the accumulated experience of our project
managers, who have worked with us for years,” Managing Director
Kristín Sif Sigurðardóttir says. “With their broad spectrum of work
experience, as well as their outstanding ambition for excellence, I
believe we have on board at Atlantik/Íslandsmót the absolute best
project managers in our field.”
Conferences are specially catered for by a dedicated conference
team, led by Katrín Guðmundsdóttir: “Iceland boasts state-of-the-
art conference facilities, not only in Harpa Concert and Conference
Center, but also in numerous hotels. It has a well-educated work
force, amazingly frequent flight connections, and all the required in-
frastructure, such as hotels, restaurants, transport and a wide choice
of activities,” she explains. “Iceland, being a small and peaceful
destination, provides the perfect backdrop for conferences on any
subject. Of particular interest are conferences on sustainability, en-
vironmental issues, renewable energy and similar matters.”
Wherever, Whenever
Iceland is no longer considered “in the middle of nowhere” but
much rather in a key position between North America and Europe,
with impressive flight connections in all directions. It is therefore the
perfect destination for international groups, especially for groups
with guests flying in from all over the world.
“Atlantik’s reputation for innovative yet realistic programs with
seamless operation will further build our client base and keep us as
a market leader in our field in Iceland,” Kristín Sif believes, adding:
“The MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, Events) market has
great potential for growth in Iceland, as long as we keep up with
increasing demand for high service level, great value and above all,
impeccable work ethics. The worldwide competition for projects
increases with every year, and it is our aim to keep Iceland at the top
of the list for coming years.”
