Surface model ofthe dómhringur at Þingeyrar (1 cm-contour lines overlain on shaded reliefmodel). both directions, and it is aligned with a nar- rower, positive linear anomaly in the south. The linear features could be interpreted as three sides of a square enclosure around the dómhringur. However, none of the linear features is visible on the surface. The second area is a broadly rectangu- lar area of high resistance directly south of the dómhringur. A distinct linear feature apparently confines it in the west. This feature could be a wall, but it is aligned with the utility line, which also runs across the old graveyard, and hence may be caused by the cable trench. The broad WSW-ENE orientation of the anomalous area corre- sponds to the tentative ruin at the bank of the dómhringur, which also marks its east- ern edge. The interpretation of these anomalies as building remains is highly speculative. 24
