Aths. Þessar upplýsingar um tekjuþróun eru fengnar frá mörgum mismunandi heimildum. Úrvinnsla og ýmsar skilgreiningar
hafa breyst þegar til lengri tfma litið er. Tölur um tekjuþróun fyrir 1960 eru byggðar á úrtaki kvæntra verka-, sjó- og iðnaðar-
manna 1948-1962 og áætlunum um ráðstöfúnartekjur byggðar á þeim. Frá 1960 er stuðst við áætlanir Þjóðhagsstofhunar. Frá
1980 eru atvinnutekjur á mann atvinnutekjur á framteljanda. Fyrir 1967 tekur kauptaxtavfsitalan eingöngu til verkamanna f
almennri hafnarvinnu en eftir það til Iaunþega innan ASÍ og opinberra starfsmanna. Vegna breytinga á kauptöxtum í kjara-
samningum f desember 1986 var kauptaxtavísitalan lðgð niður.
Note. The development of income and earningspresented in this table is based on various sources. Changes in methodology
and defmitions have moreover taken place over longer periods. The pre-1960figures are based on a sample ofeamings of
married manual workers, seamen and skilled tradesmen and estimated disposable income are based on that source. From
1960 onwards thefigures refer to the NEI's estimates based on various sources. Prior to 1960 the index of wage rates refers
only to that of longshoremen but after that to pay rates of all members of the IFL andpublic employees. Due to radical
changes in the wage rate system negotiated at end 1986 the wage rate index was abolished.
