Hånd 5 (Unknown) Throughout the manuscript there are refer-
ences to volume and page number in Peringskiold’s edition. The same
hånd comments on and corrects mistakes in the sequence of pages from
fol. tov to fol. I2r. The annotations do not concern the text itself; they
may have been written in connection with the making-up of the book
or have been inserted later for a particular purpose, such as points of
reference to the printed edition. The references can be seen on fol. lov,
liv, I2r, i2v, 20V, 2ir, 32r, 631, 63V, 641, 64V, 202r, 277V, 280V, 282V,
286v, 29IV, 2921, 292V, 30IV, 3099 309V, 320V, 312V, 337V, 341V, 342V,
355v> 3579 380V and other places.
Hånd 6 (probably eighteenth century) Beside two skaldic
verses there are references to Hallgrimur Pétursson’s explications
of skaldic poetry:107 NB. Hallgr. Pet. (fol. 359 HkrFJ I: 277, v. 116),
Menteiter. NB. Hallgr. P. (fol. 489 HkrFJ F. 358, v. 154).
Hånd 7 (late hånd) Pencilled annotations with reference to the
text: Pr.y (fol. 29V) and Pr. Aa (fol. 3ir). These annotations may be
from the nineteenth century.
107 In 1662/63 Hallgrimur Pétursson took on the task of explicating some of the
skaldic verses in Olafs saga Tryggvasonar for Torfæus. The latter had applied to
Brynjolfur Sveinsson, who passed on the task to Hallgrimur (Magnus Jonsson 1947
I: 58—61, llO; Margrét Eggertsdottir 1994: 553—54)- BLAdd. 11193 is supposedly
Hallgrimur’s autograph of these explications, but it can hardly be the final manu-
script. The first of the two verses marked by hånd 6 in 18 is discussed in BL Add
11193, fol. l6r (verse 31). The other is not found in this manuscript.
