ReLATIONSHIP BETWEEN THE TRANSCRIPTS
bokstaf, med hinu exemplarenu, ad eg ]aad so olldungis cor-
rect få kunni. Eins accurat villde eg og giarnan afskrifad få
f)ad Noregs kongatal, sem stendr i liodum i Flateyarbok aflt-
anvid Orkneinga Sogu. Eg hefe [i ad sialfur, enn ei so accurat
sem eg oskade, og kann mig Jrar firer ei ]aar uppå ad forlåta.
Sie og nockur inscriptio ]aar uppe ifer i membrana, \>i bad
eg hun mætti vel i agt takast. Firer [lad Jaridia bid eg hann
mier afskrifads unna {sess ur formålanum ifer Snorra Sturlu-
son, sem talar um Ara ffoda, og ad {sad sama qvam accura-
tissimé confererast meige med odru exemplarenu, soframt så
formåli i badum stendur. Item villdi eg giarnan få Jjann heila
passage ur Snorra Sturlusine (hann stendr framarlega ibland
Jjeirra Svensku konga), er Skiolldunga Saga i nefnest.
(Monsr., be so good as to get Åsgeir before your departure
to transcribe Ynglingatal very accurately (that is to say observ-
ing all the abbreviations and the shape of the letters) from one
of the exemplars of Snorri Sturluson (I mean only the verses
on the Swedish kings, but not the prose that comes between
them), and when they have been transcribed, to collate them
accurately, letter for letter, against the other copy, so that I can
have them as correct as possible. I would also like to have accu-
rately transcribed in the same way Noregskonungatal, which is
among the verses in Flateyjarbok after Orkneyinga saga. I have
it myself, but not as accurately as I could wish, and for this rea-
son I cannot rely on it. If there is any inscription at the top of
the page in the vellum, then I ask that attention be paid to it.
Thirdly, I would like him to transcribe for me, from the pro-
logue to Snorri Sturluson, the parts that mention Ari fro5i and
to collate these as accurately as possible against the other copy,
in so far as the prologue is in both. Also, I would very much like
to have the whole passage from Snorri Sturluson (it is near the
beginning among the Swedish kings) where Skjoldunga saga is
mentioned.)
