You might recognize Jökulsárlón,
Iceland’s spectacular glacial la-
goon from Tomb Raider, Batman
Begins or James Bond’s Die Another
Day. It’s your turn to be a maverick for
a day while Iceland Excursions – Gray
Line Iceland whisks you around on
their tour to the lagoon, located f ive
hours from Reykjavík on Iceland’s geo-
graphically diverse southern coast.
Along the way you’ll pass the impres-
sive Seljalandsfoss and Skógarfoss
waterfalls, Skaftafell National Park,
and the snow-capped shadow of
Hvannadalshnjúkur, Iceland’s highest
peak (2,110 meters). Upon your ar-
rival at the lagoon you’ll board an am-
phibious boat whose skilled driver will
show you around the white and tur-
quoise icebergs. The tour lasts a full
day, including the drive to and from
the lagoon, but the scenery’s so cool
you may just want to go twice.
