ADVENTURE TIME
Lava fields. Glacial grandeur. Roaring wa-
terfalls. Wildlife and wilderness. Icelandic
nature, at any time of year, is an adventure
waiting to be explored. Fragile and awe-in-
spiring, full of wonders and surprises, it
is sure to leave an impression on visitors,
whether basking in the midnight sun or un-
der aurora-streaked skies.
CONSULT THE EXPERTS
But nature is no theme park and visitors to
Iceland, especially to the vast interior, should
be aware that irreversible damage can easily
be inflicted on the soil and vegetation. Na-
ture should be respected. Whether at the
beach or on a mountain top, conditions can
prove dangerous, and even at the height of
summer, the weather can turn sour.
Careful organization is required before
embarking on an adventure in Iceland. Why
not leave it to the experts and book a trip
with one of Iceland’s many adventure tour
operators, each with their own field of ex-
pertise?
THRILLS AND CHILLS
Hike the highlands, climb a mountain, cross
a glacier in a specialized vehicle, venture out
into the wilderness on a trusty horse, raft on
a wild river, kayak along the rugged coast,
set sail on a whale watching boat, take a
dive and explore the oceans from below, or
soar like a bird and admire the amazing land-
scapes from above on a sightseeing flight.
Whether it’s calm and quiet observation
you seek, an adrenaline kick of a lifetime, or
something in between, Iceland’s travel com-
panies have the right adventure for you.
