The Visit of the President of Iceland
The account of the visit of President
and Mrs. Asgeirsson in the Autumn
issue of The Icelandic Canadian con-
cluded with a ibrief reference to the
itinerary after Wynyard, Sask.
The presidential plane touched
down at the R.C.A.F. station at Pen-
hold, Alberta, Wednesday, September
20th. The welcoming group included
Honorable Robin Daniel Jorgenson,
Iceland President Asgeir Asgeirsson and Mrs. Asgeirsson, accompanied by twj pretty
Wynyard girls, prepare to take leave of Wynyard following an informal three-hour visit.
The two girls are Laurie and Bonnie Thorsteinson, granddaughters of a boyhood friend
of the President, Thorsteinn Gudmundsson, who came to the Wynyard district in 1910.
They had previously presented a bouquet to Mrs. Asgeirsson.
