President and Mrs. Asgeirsson and
their entourage attended divine ser-
vice on Sunday, in the Icelandic Luth-
eran church in Vancouver. Prior to the
service, President Asgeirsson paid a
visit to the pastor of the church, Rev1-
erend E. S. Brynjolfsson, who is a
patient in the Vancouver General Hos-
pital. The service was conducted by
Pastor Eric H. Sigmar, of Camas, Wash-
ington, assisted iby Pastor G. P. John-
son, of Blaine, Washington. The
church was filled to capacity.
The Presidential party arrived at
Toronto, on Monday, September 25.
They were greeted at the airport by
the consul of Iceland, J. Ragnar John-
son. On the following day Premier
Leslie M. Frost and members of the
Provincial Cabinet entertained Pres-
ident and Mrs. Asgeirsson and their
entourage in the Red Room at the
Park Plaza Hotel. Other guests includ-
ed Mayor Nathan Phillips, of Toronto,
and Mrs. Phillips and the Chairman
of the Council of Metropolitan Tor-
onto, Mr. Frederick G. Gardiner, and
Mrs. Gardiner. Premier Frost intro-
duced President Asgeirsson, who re-
plied appropriately and outlined
briefly his trip across Canada to the
West Coast.
At the City Hall, Mayor Phillips
presented President Asgeirsson with a
pair of gold cuff links bearing the crest
of the City of Toronto, and to Mrs.
Asgeirsson he gave on behalf of the
citizens of Toronto a gold brooch in
the form of a maple leaf.
