(7-9 years), the scale of transgressive ice-
front movement is of a lower order than that
of regression. These observations can be
supported by evidence from a nearby valley
glacier and are in general agreement with
similar twentieth century studies (Rogstad,
1951; Nesje, 1989; Nesje et al., 1995),
making these fmdings of statistical signifi-
cance.
