This October,
Boston becomes the
fishing capital
of the world.
The First Annual American
Commercial Fish Exposition, a
trade show to foster cooperation
and revitalize the industry, will
be held this fall in Boston,
Massachusetts. Thís show —
first in the western hemisphere
— is sponsored by The Boston
Globe, one of America’s leading
newspapers, and takes place
October 10-14, 1967.
It will be open to the Trade each
day; and to selected members of
the public by invitation on
October 13 and 14. Site of the
show is spacious Suffolk Downs
exhibition halls, a few minutes
from downtown Boston.
Participating will be leaders from
all segments of the fishing
industry. The Federal and State
governments (as well as the
Government of Canada) have
promised full cooperation, along
with research and educational
institutions, the commercial
fishermen themselves, fleet
owners, naval architects, manu-
facturers and suppliers of equip-
ment and the industry's trade
publications.
All the latest products and de-
velopments of the commercial
fishing industry will be brought
together under one roof. Big
screen color movies will continu-
ously show the latest techniques,
methods and equipment from
both business and the govern-
ment. Seminars will be conducted
by leaders of the fishing industry,
educational institutions, suppliers
and governmental officials. Ex-
hibits will include the following:
detection • power & propulsion •
packaging • catching methods •
electronics • marketing • fishing
methods • fish handling • prep-
aration for home consumption
• fishing vessels & subsidies •
preserving • preparation for
institutional feeding.
