Paul Aylward addresses University of Maryland Students.

Paul Aylward, director of the
Economics/Corranercial division at
the American Embassy in Reykjavik,
addressed a class at the Univer-
sity of Maryland here. The stu-
dents are in the "Problems of
World Politics" course taught by
Professor C. P. Garver.
The lecture was another in the
series of guest speakers for the
Maryland program.
Mr. Aylward spoke on the gen-
eral significance of the econo-
mics of industry in the field of
international relations. He is a
Foreign Services Officer, and has
served at a number of overseas
posts as well as in the State De-
partment in Washington, D.C.
New PTO officers
Caller: When will the commercial phone line to the states be re-
paired?
C.A.L.: The undersea line will be repaired as soon as weather
permits. The sea must be calm in
face for repairs.
Caller: I have relatives com-
ing to visit me soon. They will
stay on base. Will they have to
have an Icelandic driver's li-
cense?
order to bring the line to the sur-
tely refurbished, the guest house
will have 11 rooms with kitchen-
ettes. These will be occupied on
a first-come, first-served basis.
The PTO has elected its new
officers for the 1971 - 72 school
year. The elections were held at
the PTO meeting on March 24 at
the school.
The new officers are: Cdr.
Tom Wilson, president; Vir-
ginia Doss, vice-president; YNCS
Bob Drury,secretary, and PNC Pete
Cook, treasurer.
C.A.L.: Yes - and permission
to operate a vehicle may be ob-
tained in two ways. By taking an
actual driving test administered
at the IP station or by attending
the two and a half hour briefing
held each Thursday at 1 p.m. at
Public Works, Transportation, per-
mission to drive may be obtained.
The IPs will validate a valid
stateside driver's license fol-
lowing proof of attendance at the
briefing.
Caller: Who rates the movies
that are played at Andrews Thea-
ter?
C.A.L.: Motion pictures shown
at Andrews Theater are rated by
the Navy Motion Picture Center in
Brooklyn.
Caller: I have been told that
guest house rooms, when renovated
with kitchenettes, will be for
officer's use only. Why the dis-
crimination?
C.A.L.: Not so. When comple-
