New filing system
for outpatients
effective Monday
The station dispensary starts
Monday to change from its present
outpatient filing system to the
new terminal digit - SSAN filing
system.
What this official jargon means
to you the dependent is simply
you must remember your husband's
social security number.
During the change over period,
some records will still be filed
alphabetically as they are now,
but some will already have been
changed. When the change over is
completed, only the social secur-
ity number will be needed.
The change to the terminal
digit system is part of a Navywide
program outlined by the Bureau of
Medicine and Surgery to standard-
ize outpatient records.
There will be no change in the
filing system for military re-
cords.
