The Bootleg Beatles are arguably the most highly regarded tribute
act around. Having seen them twice, we can vouch for the hype.
As forgeries go they are the real McCoy. Their music is the UHT
version of the Beatles, popular melodies with concentrate, and
decked out with a convincingness that would make Madame
Tussauds think they’d been robbed. Just don’t go tugging at
Ringo’s luxurious head of hair—in real life he’s got alopecia. TD
For any underground/art music fans out there, this is a proper
treat. British act Pye Corner Audio will be playing two separate
shows, first with Good Moon Deer in Mengi, and then with Deep
Peak at Paloma. Pye Corner Audio is a British musician whose
artistic style borrows from an eclectic mix of disco and music from
old ‘70s English shows like Dr Who, through which he examines
the dramatic change of our cultural worldview. He feels the ‘70s
had a clear sense of forward momentum, which has been replaced
by a less cohesive and more fragmented vision in modern times.
