Creating Structures
'Flatland' by Sirra Sigrún Sigurðardóttir
Reykjavík Art Museum: Hafnarhús
Tryggvagata 17 (D3) | Nov 1 - Jan 25 | 10 - 17 | 1,300 ISK
Mathematics and fun are generally not words that go together in an
exhibit’s description, but artist Sirra Sigrún Sigurðardóttir’s new works
do exactly that. ‘Flatlands’ is an examination of colour spectrums,
principles of movement and space, statistical information, scientific
theories and topographical contexts, and in it Sirra puts topics that
elude the general public into a new and accessible context. You may
not leave the exhibit feeling like a mathematic genius, but you can
expect some food for thought. SV
