Proposed layout of church dike. 0 1 2 3 4 5
ú Stones. Survey by O. Guldager 1999
F;g. ð. 77;e persumed church ruin in Qinngua as seen on surface.
that the earth inside the dike was dis-
turbed, and contained charcoal to a depth
of one metre. Even though no skeletal
parts were detected with certainty (the
test trench being just 60 x 50 centime-
tres), all signs suggested the presence of
a church there.
When surveying the farm site in 1999,
a new plan was made (fíg. 6). The ruin
site consists of a square stone set dike,
approximately 20 metres in length and
about 1,5 metres wide. In the centre of
the ruin is a quite clear concentration of
stone, likely to be a completely collapsed
stone built house, or a stone foundation.
No clear walls were detected, making an
excavation necessary in order to deter-
mine the exact outline of this ruin.
