There is no obvious association with the
dómhringur. The abovementioned anoma-
lies partly run across the latter and do not
constitute a meaningful assemblage that
can be readily interpreted e.g., as a monas-
tic complex. Nevertheless, further investi-
gation of these areas seems worthwhile.4
Possible booth remains
One of the main aims of the surveys at
Þingeyrar was to determine whether the re-
mains of booths, which Brynjulfur Jónsson
had observed in the late 19,h century, could
be detected by resistivity measurements.
Indeed, two anomalies were encountered
