Competition
It's 'Stache Time!
As we’re sure you’ll be painfully aware of by
the time this event rolls around, Icelanders take
their Mottumars (“Moustache March”) very
seriously, competing to raise funds for testicular
cancer research. Although this event is not a
part of the official docket, it may as well be, as
it offers the male denizen the chance to show
off how close to Plato’s ideal of Tom Selleck’s
moustache they can be. There are prizes, of
course, and surf sludgers Godchilla will per-
form live. GB

Scrubbing Off The
Rust
Chris Cornell has had a very illustrious career
as a musician, and if the reviews for his latest
album ‘Higher Truth’ are any indication, he’s still
in the game. Forever immortalised in the annals
of grunge as the singer of Soundgarden, Chris
sailed through the noughties with supergroup
Audioslave, releasing no shortage of solo ma-
terial along the way. Although Soundgarden are
back together, the man who should have played
Jesus in ‘Passion of the Christ’ is now touring
solo with nothing but an acoustic guitar and his
angelic voice. GB
