Vistgjöld þroskaheftra voru flutt frá sjúkratryggingum í ársbyrjun 1983 til Félagsmálaráðuneytisins. Costsfor long-term hospitalization and daycare cost
for the mentally handicapped was moved under the Ministry ofSocial Affairs in the beginning of 1983.
