Iceland’s minister of culture and education formally opens the festival at the National
Gallery of Iceland. The event features a performance by the Iceland Dance Company,
the Russian Male Choir of St. Basil’s Cathedral, and dancer Erna Ómarsdóttir. 18.00.

The international talent that's appeared at the Reykjavik Arts Festival is staggering.
Led Zeppelin. David Bowie. Leonard Cohen. Pavarotti. These are just a few of the
artists who have passed through Reykjavík since the Arts Festival began back in
1970. And this year’s festival, which runs from 14-31 May, promises to be just as big,
