You finally have a reason to arrive extra early at
the airport: to shop. Epal, one of Iceland’s fin-
est design shops for more than 30 years, has
arrived. The store carries contemporary gifts for
the home from, among others, Iceland’s own
Gler í Bergvík and Tinna Gunnarsdóttir, and
some of Scandinavia’s most famous designers,
including Georg Jensen and Marimekko. “We
want foreign travelers to have the opportunity
to purchase design products related to Iceland
and Scandinavia without the products being
typical souvenirs,” says store manager Idunn
Sveinsdóttir. Bonus: everything is sold duty-
