Welcome to the Glacier Exhibition in the Southeast
at the town of Höfn. Here at Höfn where we have horizons
dominated by glacial ice, an exhibition on glaciers has
been set up, crowned by the magnificent neighbor
Vatnajökull. Here knowledge of glacial properties and
their effects on the environment and society gains focus
and comes alive through the help of selected scientists,
scholars and artists.

Glacier jeeps - Ice and Adventure, in southeast
Iceland offer adventure tours with specially equipped 4WD
jeeps and skidoos to Vatnajökull, Europe’s largest glacier.
We offer a variety of exciting tours on the glacier as well as
day trips to Jökulsárlón and other spectacular destinations
all year round. Our most popular tour is a super jeep
excursion to Brókarbotnstindur in Vatnajökull. First we drive
up to Jöklasel and then on the snowy glacier Vatnajökull
to Brókarbotnstindur, where we have breathtaking views
of deep valleys, high mountains and of course, the great

The first time people take one of our tours, it’s out of
curiosity. To see the midnight sun, the hot springs hidden in
cave of ice, and the mountainous glacier. The second time
they visit, it’s often because they just want more!
Jökulsárlón - Glacier lagoon, is one of Iceland’s
most visited places and that’s no wonder! Huge ice
blocks that have broken from the edge of the glacier
float around the lagoon. The Atlantic ocean flows into the
lagoon bringing fish with it. It is therefore not uncommon
to see seals swimming among the icebergs looking for
food. The company Jökulsárlón offers exciting boat trips
on the glacier lagoon where you can sail among the
huge icebergs and enjoy one of the most picturesque
scenery in all of south Iceland. The duration of a boat

Glacier Lagoon is a famous tourist attraction, and has been
seen by more people than other Icelandic sites, but that is
due to a part of a James Bond film, Die another day, being
filmed there and several other films like Tomb Raider.
