to four questions with equal weight: gen-
eral pleasure, likelihood of recommending
a visit to the country, fulfillment of expec-
tations and value for money. The results
and the newly established shopping area

FINGER ON THE PULSE
The increase in tourist numbers is expect-
ed to continue. Thus, it’s essential to be
able to measure how tourists experience
the country during their visit and whether
that experience meets their expectations.
In an effort to measure just that, the Tour-
ist Pulse was created.
The Tourist Pulse is a cooperative proj-
ect between Gallup, Isavia and the Icelan-
dic Tourist Board. Published monthly, it’s
based on information provided from the
emails of those who go through Keflavík
International Airport. Einar Einarsson,
CEO of Gallup, states: “It’s essential for
