The water comes from a nearby borehole, which includes saltwater and is rich in minerals,
having a pleasant effect on the skin and believed to have healing powers. Less chlorine is
used than in most other pools. The pool area includes a 25-m swimming pool, paddling pool,
four hot tubs, cold tub, waterslide and steam room. An adjacent World Class fitness center.

A cozy swimming pool at Kjalarnes, which lies by the road to West Iceland,
offers a panoramic view of the capital from across Faxaflói bay. Close by,
there are great sea-bathing facilities.

This pool complex has a 25x12.5-m pool, three waterslides, a children’s pool, hot tub,
Jacuzzi, bubbling pool with built-in water massage, steam bath directly from
Deildartunguhver hot spring, sauna and great sunbathing facilities, as well as
a 12.5x8-m indoor pool. A fitness center is also on the premises.

Hreppslaug swimming pool was built in 1928 and is run by the non-profit youth organiza-
tion Íslendingur. Hreppslaug is preserved as a cultural heritage site. Water is channeled
directly from a nearby hot spring into the pool and hot tubs.
