festu í þessum málum en áður var. Þó fylgja ekki allir mosafræð-
ingar þessari stefnu. Vegna þessara sífelldu breytinga má gera ráð
fyrir, að einhverjum þeirra tegunda, er hér hafa verið taldar, verði
skipt eða þær sameinaðar áður en langt um líður, auk þeirra hreyt-
inga, sem hljóta að verða á þessari upptalningu við fund nýrra
tegunda eða við það, að einhverjar þessara tegunda verði felldar
niður sem íslenzkar tegundir. Þá vil ég og benda á, að hugtakið
tegund er nokkuð annað í augum mosafræðinga en háplöntufræð-
inga.

This is a list of the species of the orders Poltiales, Grimrniales and Funari-
ales 'which is known to the author to have been found in Iceland. The species
which the author has not seen are witli a question-mark before their names.
New species to the Icelandic moss flora are: Encalypta procera Bruch, E.
alpina Sm., Barbula rigidula (Heclw.) Mitt., Grimmia pulvinata (Heclw.) Sm.,
G. plagiopodia Hedw., Rhacomitrium ellipticum (Turn.) Br. Eur. and Enlo-
sthodon fascicularis (Hedw.) C. Miill.
